Herd of cows lead cops to suspect in North Carolina

A herd of heroic cows helped their human cop friends track down a man who was fleeing from police during a high speed chase. 
Joshua Russell Minton, 34, of Millers Creek, tried to flee from officers during a traffic stop taking police on a wild chase. 
The suspect abandoned his car in the area of US Highway 421 and US Highway 221 in Deep Gap and fled on foot in a grassy field. 
He was arrested on Tuesday after some cows turned him in. He was charged with eluding arrest with a motor vehicle, driving with a revoked license and disorderly conduct. 

Minton's next court date is scheduled for June 28 in Watauga County.

It is unclear the number of cows involved in the pursuit and if they were making mooing sounds during the capture, but officers were grateful that the animals  jumped into action.
The police said the cops lost track of the suspect due to his reckless driving and the cows helped assist by leading the officers to the area where Minton was hiding. 
'The cows communicated with the officers as best they could and finally just had the officers follow them to the suspect's location.'
The department  expressed their gratitude to the cows for their 'unexpected but welcomed,' help.
Boone Sargeant Dennis O'Neal told WCNC Charlotte said, 'officers noticed when they were conducting their ground search for the individual that cows in a certain pasture began moving.' 
 'Based on that movement, they felt like the suspect was in the area of the cows.

So that's how the cows assisted with his capture.'
'Apparently cows do not want suspected criminals loitering in their pasture and quickly assisted our officers by leading them directly to where the suspect was hiding,' the news release said.
'In addition to thanking our officers and deputies for putting themselves in harm's way; obviously, we want to express our gratitude to the cows for their assistance,' police said.
Officer Creed with the Boone Police Department appeared elated and said, 'you can't make it up...it's rare...
